Herbed Garlic Salt

Herbed Garlic Salt

This herbed garlic salt will quickly replace that old bottle of “garlic salt” in your spice cabinet.  Packed with fresh flavors of garlic, thyme, rosemary, and lemon, you’ll find countless ways to use this salt in your kitchen. Make up a double batch and give it to family and friend for the holidays.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled

  • Zest from 1 lemon

  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves removed and stems discarded

  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, leaves removed and stems discarded

  • 1 cup sea salt

Directions:

  1. In a food processor fitted with the “s” attachment, blitz together the garlic, lemon zest, thyme, and rosemary until finely minced.

  2. Add the salt, and blitz again until everything is well combined. You can make the salt totally smooth, or leave it a bit coarser, whichever you prefer.

  3. Store your salt in a sealed container for up to a month.

How to Use Your Salt:

·      Season meat, poultry, or fish before cooking

·      Add it to vinaigrettes or dressings

·      Sprinkle it on roasted vegetables

·      Add it to mashed potatoes or sweet potato fries
